San Rafael Pacifics News Release

The Pacific Association of Professional Baseball Clubs is pleased to announce today the admission of the East Bay Lumberjacks as a full league member. To this point the Lumberjacks have been playing a limited schedule as a travel club against the other Pacific Association clubs as a try-out for full membership status. The East Bay-based team will continue to play as a travel team for the 2013 season in anticipation of an announcement in the near future of a home ballpark beginning with the 2014 season.

"This is a very important first step in assuring the long term stability of the Pacific Association," said Pacific Association Commissioner, Mike Marshall. "We envision a stronger league with more local Bay Area teams competing against other as well as teams from throughout the Pacific region. The Lumberjacks have demonstrated their competitive and financial capacity and we welcome them to our league."

The Lumberjacks are now scheduled to play a slate of additional games against the other Pacific Association clubs, beginning with replacing the Vallejo Admirals on the upcoming road trip to Maui and Hilo to play the Na Koa Ikaika and Hawaii Stars, respectively. The Lumberjacks will be included in the league standings and official league statistics and will be a participant in this year's playoffs.
