Pitcher German Marquez of the 2013 Princeton Rays has been named as Appalachian League "Pitcher of the Week" for the time period of July 1-7, 2013.
His selection was strongly based on a strong performance in Princeton on July 7 when he limited the Pulaski Mariners to two hits over five scoreless innings in a start at Hunnicutt Field. For the evening, Marquez struck out seven Mariners' hitters while allowing no bases on balls.
