
P-Bruins' season comes to an end

The Providence Bruins saw their 2003-04 season come to an end on Friday night at the Dunkin' Donuts Center Providence, as they fell to the Portland Pirates, 6-2. The Bruins outshot the Pirates in the game, 30-13, but came up on the short end, and were swept in the best-of-three series, 2-0. The Pirates will move on to play the Hartford Wolf Pack in the Atlantic Division Semifinals.
Bruin center Brad Boyes and right wing Carl Corazzini each scored his first playoff goal in the third period of the game, cutting the deficit to 4-2. The Pirates scored again to make it 5-2 before adding an empty net goal at 19:30. Goaltender Tim Thomas made seven saves in the game.
