
P-Bruins Defeat Phantoms 3-2

Glens Falls, NY - The Providence Bruins defeated the Adirondack Phantoms 3-2 Saturday evening at the Glens Falls Civic Center. The P-Bruins got their goals from Carter Camper, Craig Cunningham and Jamie Tardif. The P-Bruins return to the Dunkin' Donuts Center Friday at 7:05 p.m. against the Portland Pirates for Sport Bottle Night.
The P-Bruins took a 1-0 lead at the 13:31 mark of the opening period. Matt Bartkowski sent the puck into the zone, where it was picked up by Calle Ridderwall. He put a shot on net and the puck came loose. It was picked up by Camper and he scored his 11th goal of the season. Providence led 1-0 going into the first intermission.
Providence made it 2-0 at the 1:16 mark of the second period. Kevan Miller held the puck at the right point and passed it to Bartkowski at the left point. He fed Cunningham in the high slot who scored his tenth goal of the season. Adirondack pulled within a goal at the 8:24 mark while on a 5-on-3 power play. Brandon Manning tallied his second goal of the season, with Blake Kessel and Ben Holmstrom recording the assists. The P-Bruins retook a two goal lead at the 17:46 mark, while on the power play. Yannick Riendeau had the puck behind the net and sent it up along the boards to Camper. He sent the puck towards the front of the net, where it was tipped in by Tardif for his 11th goal of the season. Providence led 3-1 going into the second intermission.
Adirondack pulled back within a goal at the 12:33 mark of the third period. Garrett Roe netted his sixth goal of the season, while Cullen Eddy picked up the lone assist. It was the only goal in the third period as the P-Bruins held on for the 3-2 victory.
Michael Hutchinson stopped 40 of 42 shots for the P-Bruins, while Michael Leighton made 25 saves for the Phantoms. The P-Bruins were 1-for-5 on the power play and 2-for-3 on the penalty kill.
