Owlz Bats too Much for Voyagers

OREM Utah--The Owlz put on an offensive display as they powered their way to a 13-6 victory, completing a three-game sweep of the Voyagers.
Combining for five home runs on 16 hits, the Owlz controlled the game after securing a 4-1 lead through three innings, with a three run third inning.
Orem opened it up in the middle innings with nine runs on five home runs.
Taylor Lindsey led the charge with a pair of home runs, his fourth and fifth of the season, as he possesses the league's second highest batting average.
The Owlz also got home runs from C.J. Cron (7), Ryan Jones (3), and Gary Mitchell (4). Jamaal Hollis gave up three home runs in the six innings, as he struggled in his 1.2 innings of work, surrendering five runs on six hits.
Seven Owlz collected at least two hits, as Jones led the team with three knocks, including a single in the third to break a 1-1 tie.
The Voyagers scored first in each game this series, as Martin Medina's RBI single in the second scored David Herbek. Medina led the Voyagers with three RBI singles.
David Herbek added two hits, including a two-run triple and a double.
Joe De Pinto singled in the first inning and walked in the fifth, extending his consecutive games on-base streak to a league-high 19 contests. His single in the first also gave him a string of ten straight plate appearances in which the second baseman reached.
Scott Snodgress (0-1) suffered the loss, going 2.2 innings giving up four runs on five hits.
The Voyagers did not retire the side in order until the seventh when Salvador Sanchez picked up a strikeout--his first as a professional--a flyout and a groundout. Joe Dvorsky three a perfect eighth behind him.
Nick Maronde picked up a no-decision in his start for the Owlz. He looked good in four innings, giving up just one run, striking out five, including the side in the final inning he pitched.
Garrett Baker (3-0) was given the win in a scorer's decision, going three innings, giving up just one run.
The Voyagers committed a season-high five errors in the loss, which puts them in a four-game losing skid, their longest such streak of the season.
Rain prevented the Voyagers from taking batting practice for the second straight day, and third day overall as they did not take batting practice before Monday's 1:05 p.m. game.
The Voyagers have tomorrow off before beginning a three game series with the first-half champions of the North Division, the Missoula Osprey.
