Outlaws to Play Two Exhibition Games

(Chico, CA. May 6th, 2010) The Chico Outlaws announced they are playing two exhibition games on May 15-16th in preparation for the upcoming 2010 Golden Baseball League season. The Outlaws' opponent will be the Senior College Stars, managed by Rich Aldrete. Both games will take place at the Butte College baseball field, where the Outlaws are holding their annual spring training camp.

Aldrete played seven years in the minor leagues, five with the San Francisco Giants organization, and finished his career with a lifetime .320 batting average. In 2005, he was named as the first-ever baseball coach at NCAA Division II California State-Monterey Bay, a position Aldrete still holds today.

On Saturday May 15th, a nine-inning game between the Stars and Outlaws will be played beginning at 3:00 pm. The Outlaws will take batting practice before the game beginning at noon to 1:30 pm. On Sunday, May 16th, a nine-inning game will start at noon, with the Outlaws taking batting practice from 9:00 - 10:30 am.

Outlaws fans are invited to attend to get a sneak peek at this year's team and admission is free to both games.

The Outlaws open the 2010 regular season on the road in Tijuana and return to Nettleton Stadium on Wednesday May 26th at 7:05 pm for their home opener against Tijuana. Full-season tickets, along with 5, 10 and 20-game mini-plans are still available. Single game tickets go on sale to the general public on Friday, May 7th. To purchase single game tickets over the phone, fans can contact the Outlaws main office starting on May 7th at 530-345-3210. Tickets can also be purchased in person at the Outlaws office, which recently moved and is located at 313 Walnut Street, Suite 110 in Chico.
