
Outlaws Ink Another Ex-MLB Arm

(Chico, CA. May 6th, 2010) The Chico Outlaws, members of the independent Golden Baseball League, announced the addition of the fourth ex-Major Leaguer to the Outlaws roster with the signing of LHP Matt Perisho.
Perisho, 34, played in the majors for eight seasons with five different organizations (Anaheim, Detroit, Texas, Florida and Boston) from 1997-2005. Appearing in 177 major league games overall, his most productive season was the 2004 campaign in Florida, where he went 5-3, 4.40 ERA in 66 games for the Marlins with 10 holds. A 3rd round draft choice of the California Angels in 1993, Perisho made his big league debut in 1997 with the Angels.
Perisho comes to the Outlaws as a free agent after spending the 2009 season in Taiwan with the Taipei City Brother Elephants of the Chinese Professional Baseball League. Coming out of the bullpen, he went 4-1, 3.11 ERA with 4 saves. Perisho pitched in over half of the team's regular season games (66 of 120 games), compiling 23 holds.
Catcher Mike Rose, infielder Bobby Hill and pitcher Wayne Franklin are the other Outlaw's with big league experience on the roster.
The Outlaws open the 2010 season on the road in Tijuana and return to Nettleton Stadium on Wednesday May 26th at 7:05 pm for their home opener against Tijuana. Full-season tickets, along with 5, 10 and 20-game mini-plans are still available. Single game tickets go on sale to the general public on Friday, May 7th. To purchase single game tickets over the phone, fans can contact the Outlaws main office starting on May 7th at 530-345-3210. Tickets can also be purchased in person at the Outlaws office, which recently moved and is located at 313 Walnut Street, Suite 110 in Chico.
