Chico Outlaws News Release

(Chico, CA Aug 23rd, 2010) This coming Friday night, August 27th, the Chico Outlaws will be looking to the past as they will play that night as the Redding Browns, on Shasta Tehama County night sponsored by the Laws Offices of Roland Bennett. The Redding Browns played in the Class D Far West League from 1948-1951. All Browns jerseys worn by the Outlaws will be auctioned off throughout the game, with the proceeds going to charity.

In attendance at the game will be Christine Perry, daughter of Ray Perry, who played with the Browns throughout the entire life of the league. Perry played 17 years in the minor leagues, hitting 348 career homeruns throughout his career and leading the Far West League in homers in each of the season he played for the Browns. After leaving the Browns after the 1951 season, Perry spent several seasons as a player, manager and scout with various minor league organizations. Perry never left baseball until his death on May 3, 1952.

The first 500 fans in attendance will receive a free Browns t-shirt.

The Outlaws begin a five-game series with the St George Roadrunners starting Wednesday at the Nett. Kris Honel (7-2, 3.08) will start for Chico.

The game will be broadcast live on the Outlaws Baseball Network at 7:05 pm. Fans can catch all the action with Dan Hawkins starting at 6:50 pm. Watch live on www.justin.tv.com/chicooutlawsbaseball or audio only at www.chicooutlaws.com.
