Outlaws Steal Game Two Win

August 20, 2007 - Golden Baseball League (GBL)
Chico Outlaws News Release

The Reno Silver Sox were unable to muster enough offense to get the win against the Chico Outlaws tonight, August 19, losing 3 - 2.

Silver Sox starter Dusty Bergman gave the team a great performance pitching a complete game, the first for the Silver Sox this season, but it wasn't enough. Bergman finished the night pitching nine innings allowing three runs off of seven hits, while striking out four Outlaws. However, Bergman was still saddled with the loss.

The Silver Sox were held scoreless by the Outlaws until the seventh inning. With the Outlaws already up 3 - 0, the Silver Sox got one run back when 3B Chuck Sindlinger hit an RBI single scoring 1B Adam Amar.

Now 3 - 1 going into the eighth the Silver Sox added one more run when DH Juan Senreiso hit an RBI double to deep center scoring C Josh McLeod. Silver Sox Manager Les Lancaster tried to get the tie sending CF Victor Hall to score on the play as well, but the Outlaw throw was on target and the Outlaws were able to tag Hall.

The Silver Sox threatened the Outlaws in the ninth with a man on second, but were unable to bring him home, allowing the Outlaws to get the 3 - 2 victory.

The Silver Sox return to Peccole Park tomorrow night for the beginning of a three game series against the Los Angeles Armada. For tickets to this, or any other Silver Sox game, visit the Silver Sox ticket booth before the game.
