Chico Outlaws News Release
CHICO, CALIF - The defending Golden Baseball League champion Chico Outlaws will open up single game ticket sales to the general public this Saturday, May 10, beginning at 8:00am at the team's downtown Chico ticket office at 308 Salem Street. This will be the first chance for fans to purchase tickets for any of the Outlaws 44 home games during the 2008 season, including Opening Night May 30, the 4th of July fireworks spectacular, the return of the Famous San Diego Chicken June 7 and a variety of special events, giveaway and theme nights.
In past years fans have lined up outside the Outlaws office well before the doors open to have an opportunity to purchase the best available seats for in-demand games like Opening Night and the 4th of July. During the off-season the Outlaws have been offering full- and mini-season ticket packages, and while they are still available, the team is anticipating a big turnout on Saturday for the start of single game sales.
The Outlaws have scheduled a huge array of special events, as well as several giveaway and theme nights this summer at Nettleton Stadium. Besides the 4th of July game, the Outlaws will feature fireworks on Opening Night May 30 and following their game with the Long Beach Armada on Friday, June 6. Among some of the giveaway night items: magnet schedules, Outlaws caps, tote bags, team photos, pennants, scroll banners, straw hats, special pink baseballs and softy Victory Balls. The Outlaws will once again be wearing special Hawaiian jerseys during every Friday home game that will be auctioned off during Fan Appreciation Week Saturday, August 30. The team will also don and auction off pink jerseys for its June 6 "Man Enough to Wear Pink" game and unique camouflage jerseys on July 4th.
In addition to the Famous Chicken's second visit to "The Nett," special events for the Outlaws 2008 season include the official championship ring ceremony May 31; the second annual Magnificent Mutt Show June 8; a "Cinco de Julio" celebration July 5; the annual Outlaws/Bloodsource "Out for Blood" blood drive July 7; Public Safety Night July 13; the Outlaws Yard Sale July 27; "Parrothead Night" (a salute to Jimmy Buffett featuring a pre- and after-game performance by Buffett tribute band Garratt Wilkin and the Parrotheads) August 1; Outlaws mascot Rascal the Raccoon's Birthday Party August 12, featuring many of the business and school mascots from around the North Valley area, and a three-day Fan Appreciation Weekend August 29-31, featuring giveaways and special season-ending events.
As always, the Outlaws will be offering a number of ways for fans and families to stretch their entertainment dollar this season. Every Tuesday night is "Kid's Night" - boys and girls 12 and under get into the game for just a dollar when accompanied by a full-paying adult. Seniors 60 and older will receive a nightly two dollar ticket discount, while youngsters four years of age and younger will be admitted free.
