Outlaws Robbery

July 25, 2007 - Golden Baseball League (GBL)
Orange County Flyers News Release

The Chico Outlaws scored six runs in the 7th inning aided by two Orange County errors to win 6-5 over the Flyers at Nettleton Stadium.

Garry Templeton II hit a grand slam homerun to left field in the 6th inning to give the Flyers a 4-0 lead. It was Templeton II's first homerun of the season.

Nate Holguin put the team in position to win when he was removed from the contest in the 7th. Holguin gave up three runs, but he was scoreless through the first six innings.

Jason Howerton came in in relief of Holguin and allowed two inherited runners to score, but it was the defense that let him down. With two on and two out, Scott Dragicevich hit a groundball to 3B Mark Okano, who threw the ball down the right field line, which scored two runs and made the score 5-4 Chico. Then, Dave Bacani was given a throwing error on a groundball, which brought home the sixth run.

The Flyers had two runners on in the 9th inning against Todd Gelatka, but Johnny Coit and Buddy Morales struck out to end the game. The Flyers are now 3-5 in the second half and Chico is 3-4.

The rubber match of this three game series will be Thursday at 7:05 p.m. on KWRM 1370 AM and orangecountyflyers.com.
