Outlaws Prevail in Highest Scoring Game of the Season 17-10

DENVER -The Denver Outlaws high-powered performance, Major League Eating contest, Hero's day in-game recognition and fireworks display kept an audience of just under 7,000 entertained on a chilly May evening at Sports Authority Field at Mile High.
The game totaling 27 points by both teams, was the most ever this season and the Outlaws recorded 17 points is the most the team has notched against an opponent in 2015.
The Outlaws sticks were like cannons firing during the first period. Jeremy Sieverts kicked the Memorial Day weekend game off shooting a beautiful bounce shot into the Bayhawks net with an assist from John Grant Jr. Two other Outlaws including Cam Holding and Chris Bocklet would follow up with their own individual goals in the first quarter, closing out the quarter with a 3-1 lead.
Both goalies kept the quarter low scoring with a total of 14 saves, Outlaws 11 vs. the Bayhawks 3.
The relentless scoring continued into the second period with eight more goals, six by Outlaws players beginning with Justin Pennington, then followed up quickly by Jeremy Noble, Drew Snider, two by Bocklet within 30 seconds of one another, then another by Snider to close out the first half.
By the half six different Outlaws walked away with goals with Bocklet completing the first 30 minutes of the game with a hat trick.
Both goalies had phenomenal first halves with the Bayhawks Tyler Fiorito recording 14 saves, the most ever against Denver. Outlaws goalie Jessie Schwartzman allowed the fewest number of goals since July 20, 2014 when Florida got two past him.
The third quarter was again high scoring with ten recorded goals, six by Outlaws players including Ken Clausen, notching his first Major League Lacrosse goal. The five remaining points scored by Holding, Grant Jr., Anthony Kelly, Noah Molnar and Sieverts.
The beginning of the fourth period the Outlaws replaced Schwartzman with goalie Dillion Ward, seeing his first Major League Lacrosse action.
In the final frame of the game the scoring eventually slowed with just three points, two by Outlaws giving both Grant Jr. and Holding hat tricks to close out the game.
Nine assists sets the single-game high record for the club as does 17 goals along with 35 shots on goal.
The Outlaws will be back at home as they face the Ohio Machine Friday, May 29 at 7 p.m. MDT. Denver's next home game is presented by Miller Lite and Dumb Friends League and will feature Paws at the Park featuring a dog-friendly section of the stadium.
