Outlaw's Post-Season Opener Tomorrow Night

(Chico, CA. September 6th, 2010) The arrival of September on the calendar means just one thing: it's time for playoff baseball! The Chico Outlaws start their first-round series against the Calgary Vipers on Tuesday and Wednesday night in the friendly confines of the "Nett".
First pitch at Nettleton Stadium for games one and two of the best-of-five series is set for 7:05 pm each night.
The Outlaws (55-30 overall) qualified for the post-season after winning the first-half GBL North title, while Calgary (53-35) grabbed the second spot by besting everyone else for the second half title in the North Division.
Chico's game one starter will be rightie Garret Holleran (9-2, 3.69 ERA), who makes his third start of the year against the Snakes, while right-hander Reggie Rivard gets the call for Calgary.
Calgary, the defending GBL champions from 2009, leads the season series between these two teams at 5-4, with Chico sweeping the Vipers in Calgary in their lone visit of the year to Foothills Stadium July 30th-August 1st. The visitors from north of the border have won five of the six games played at the Nett.
Thursday September 9th will be a travel day for both teams and game three of the playoff series will be played on Friday September 10th in Calgary. Games four and five (if necessary) will be played September 11th-12th in Calgary as needed. Game times in Calgary have not been announced.
Fans who have purchased tickets for the previously announced weekend playoff dates can exchange their tickets at the Outlaws main office located at 313 Walnut Street, Suite 110 in Chico or at the box office on the day of a game. Fans can exchange their tickets for either of the two home playoff dates and can also exchange tickets during the GBL Championship Series if the Outlaws advance. The games will be broadcast live on the Outlaws Baseball Network and fans can catch all the action with Dan Hawkins starting at 6:50 pm both Tuesday and Wednesday nights.
