Playoffs 24 Hours Away as OC Wraps Regular Season Tonight

WAILUKU, Hawai'i (September 6, 2010) -- The Orange County Flyers wrap up the regular season today on Maui starting at 9:35pm Pacific before beginning the best-of-five playoff series against Na Koa Ikaika on Tuesday. Orange County, which clinched its playoff berth last Thursday with a win over Tijuana, is heading to the post-season for the third time in the six-year history of the GBL, one of only three teams to make the playoffs three times in league history.

Flyers manager Paul Abbott, in his first season at the helm, can set a new franchise record for wins a season if his club can defeat Maui in the regular season finale. The Flyers are sitting at 51 wins in 2010, the same number of victories as the GBL Championship team that went 51-35 in 2008. The winner of the South Division Series between Orange County and Maui will face either the Chico Outlaws or Calgary Vipers out of the North Division for the GBL Championship.
