DENVER -The Denver Outlaws were snake bit by the Rochester Rattlers in week 5 of the 2015 MLL season, falling to .500 (2-2) with a final score of 15-12. The game played in the high heat of the day at Eunice Kennedy Shriver Stadium in Brockport, N.Y. resembled an old western shootout.

Anthony Kelly started off the game on a high note. Leading the league in career faceoff wins, breaking 1,450 last week against the Charlotte Hounds he kicked off the game winning his 500th as an Outlaw.

The first quarter was high-scoring with the Rattlers' Jordan Wolf quickly coming out of the gate, scoring less than one minute into the game. Four different Outlaws stepped up to answer the Rattlers four goals in the first period with goals by Jeremy Sieverts, Eric Law, Greg Downing and Greg Melaugh.

The Outlaws looked sluggish in the second, only putting up one goal to Rochester's four by Justin Turri, Jordan MacIntosh, Jeremy Boltus and Jordan Wolfe. The Outlaws pace slowed, dragging through an 11-minute scoring drought. Melaugh was the only Outlaw to score a goal in the period, putting up his second of the day (unassisted).

The Outlaws ran into the second half with guns blazing, putting up three unanswered points in the first ten minutes of play by Patrick Harbeson (unassisted), Mike Bocklet (unassisted) and Drew Snider. The Rattlers, John Ranagan and Dave Lawson wrapped up the third period putting two goals on the board, closing out the quarter with an 8-10 score.

The final frame featured rampant scoring by both teams with the Rattlers scoring five and the Outlaws putting up four in the final 15 minutes of the game. Rochester's Jordan MacIntosh started the scoring in the final period with Mike Bocklet answering with a powerplay goal and just three minutes later completing the first hat trick of the day.

Rochester's Mark Cockerton rapidly fired off two unanswered goals until Mike Bocklet scored his fourth of the day, quickly followed up by a second Outlaws' hat trick by Greg Melaugh. Finally with 47 seconds left in play Rochester's Dave Lawson sealed up the win for the Rattlers with a final score of 15-12.
