Yuma took a 1-0 lead in the top of the 1st inning as Jordan Prado opened the game with a base hit, advanced to third on Chico pitcher Derrick Loop's two-base throwing error, and scored on a Henry Calderon groundout. The Outlaws tied it up in the bottom of the 1st...Steve Boggs scoring from third when Scott Dragicevich hit into a double play.

The Scorpions went back on top in the 4th when Prado's two-out RBI double plated Matos. Yuma starting pitcher Eric Maydew made the 2-1 lead stand up as he held the Chico offense in check...at one point retiring 10 consecutive batters and 17 of 18. The Outlaws finally pulled even in the bottom of the 9th when Jason Van Meetren singled past the drawn in Scorpions infield to knock in Dragicevich and send the contest to extra innings. Matos led off the Yuma 10th with his fifth home run of the year; later in the inning Yosvany Almario blooped a base hit to right to drive in Hector Bernal and Calderon delivered a two-run single to plate Prado and Almario to put the Scorpions up 6-2. Chico answered with a run in the bottom of the 10th - Jason Matteucci scoring on a Steve Boggs groundout - but reliever Aaron Wilson got David Pierson to ground out to end the ballgame and give Yuma its 13th victory in the last 15 games.

Scorpions reliever Neil Hayes (2-1), who blew a save opportunity in the 9th, got credit for the win...Jesse Oster (3-1) took the loss for the Outlaws. Yuma piled up 15 hits on the night, with Calderon going 4-for-6 with three RBI; Matos finished 3-for-5...Boggs and Pierson each had two hits to lead Chico's nine-hit attack. Saturday's loss dropped the Outlaws to 3-7 in the second half and 28-20 on the year...the Scorpions improved to 9-1 in the second half and 30-18 for the season. The series and homestand finale is scheduled for Sunday - Chico looks to avoid the sweep by sending right-hander John Jefferson (3-1) to the mound...Yuma will throw right-hander Steve Soja (5-3).
