Chico Outlaws News Release

After scoring two runs in the first inning, the Outlaws fell behind before the frame was done, committing an error that lead to two runs and a 3-2 deficit. St. George would then benefit from more errors, and score six more runs in the third inning, all unearned, to take a 9-2 lead they would not relinquish.

Luis Gonzalez pitched six innings, allowing four runs, earning his second victory of the season. Alexis Gomez continued to terrorize Outlaw pitchers, as he hit his third home-run of the series, pushing his RBI total in the first two games of the series to seven.

The Outlaws did show some life late in the ballgame. Jason Crosland, who had a nice 3-for-5 night, singled in a run with two outs in the seventh, and came home on a Rich Janeway two-run homer. That output made the score 11-7 after six and a half innings, but the RoadRunners answered with a run of their own in the bottom half of the inning to end the scoring at 12-7.

With the loss, the Outlaws have lost back-to-back games for the first time this season. They also will drop their first series of the year, making tomorrow?s series finale important. On getaway day, the Outlaws will send Andrew Alvarado to the mound in a 7:05 p.m. MST start. Tune in right here at www.chicooutlaws.com to hear every pitch.
