Denver Outlaws News Release

DENVER - Attackman Chris Bocklet earned Cascade Rookie of the Week honors after scoring three goals with one assist in Denver's 16-8 win against Ohio. All of Bocklet's points came in the third quarter as he had a hand in all four of the Outlaws' scores during the period.

Bocklet becomes the third Outlaw rookie to be named the MLL Cascade Rookie of the Week in the first four weeks that the award has been given this season. He joins Stephen Robarge (Week 3), Mark Matthews (Week 5).

Bocklet was a two-time honorable mention USILA All-American, finishing his career at Virginia with 137 goals and 28 assists for a total of 165 points. He led the Cavaliers with 36 goals and ranked second on the team with 44 points during his senior season.

The brother of Outlaws two-time All-MLL defenseman Matt Bocklet, Chris was drafted by Charlotte with the 29th overall pick in the 2012 MLL Collegiate draft, then traded to Denver.

The award is the sixth Rookie of the Week that an Outlaws player has earned in the team's history and is the 27th overall player of the week award garnered by an Outlaw (12 Offensive Players of the Week / 9 Defensive Players of the Week / 6 Rookies of the Week).
