Denver Outlaws News Release

DENVER - The Outlaws signed two players to the roster from the club's open tryouts held on Sunday, March 30.

Midfielder Noah Molnar and faceoff specialist Nick Maggio were both added from the MLL player pool after their performances at the team's tryouts. The open tryout was the first in club history and was a part of the Outlaws Academy.

"It's always extra special when you are able to hold a tryout for interested MLL players who are registered in the MLL Player Pool and you identify several that you think have the ability to help your team," Outlaws General Manager Tony Seaman said.

Maggio played collegiate lacrosse at Merrimack College, where he set school records for faceoff percentage, faceoff wins and ground balls during his senior season. He won 59 percent of his draws that year and picked up 87 ground balls. His 410 career ground balls ranked first among active players across all three NCAA divisions at the time of his graduation. A two-time NEILA All New England selection, Maggio has spent time on the Boston Cannons practice squad.

"Nick Maggio was more than impressive this past weekend as well with his ability to dominate faceoffs. We look forward to having him go against Anthony Kelly and Steven Robarge at training camp. That contest will give us a much better idea of his potential as a MLL faceoff midfielder."

Molnar was selected in the sixth round (45th overall) of the 2013 MLL Collegiate Draft by the Rochester Rattlers. He played collegiate lacrosse at Lehigh University, where he picked up 71 career ground balls in his four-year career with the Mountain Hawks.

"Noah Molnar was very impressive in his workouts this past Sunday at the Denver Outlaw tryouts. He is a big, strong and athletic lacrosse player who has the ability to help us as a defensive midfielder. We look forward to having him in training camp in two weeks."
