Bakersfield - Outback Steakhouse 5th annual Blitz Bowl will be held Friday, April 7 at 7 p.m. in the Rabobank Arena. The Outback Steakhouse Blitz Bowl is the only high school All Star game played Arena Style in the nation.

The Outback Steakhouse Blitz Bowl is an annual event that expands in both attendance and performance each year. It is heavily publicized in the county with all aspects of the local media involved. With the Blitz Bowl in its fifth year, a great crowd of more than 6,000 people are expected from the surrounding Kern County area. The game represents twenty-three of the thirty local high schools with up to 9 of each school's top athletes competing. Also representing the high schools are fifty cheerleaders with performances throughout the game.

The Blitz will have their first home game on Sunday, April 9 when the Blitz battle the Spokane Shock. Kick off is set for 3:00 p.m. at Rabobank Arena. The first 5,000 fans will receive a Blitz schedule magnet and thunder stick.

Season tickets for the Blitz 2006 season are on sale now, as well as single game tickets. Ticket plans start as low as $80 and single game tickets are as low as $10 in the lower bowl.
