Otters Win Second Straight

O'Fallon, MO - Evansville pulled out a close one tonight when Jon Lewis got the final batter to pop out to right field with the tying run at second base to pick up his eighth save of the season in an 8-7 win at T.R. Hughes Ballpark. A back and forth game in the early innings was swung the Otters way in the fourth when Evansville plated four runs, three of them on a bases loaded double from Justin Randall. River City tied it up in the fifth at 5-5. Evansville would break out again in the sixth inning, plating thee runs, two on a homerun from Tycen Povey. The Rascals got two runs back on a two-run homerun from A.J. Van Slyke in the bottom of the sixth, but the bullpen would buckle down the rest of the way, as Bradley Blanks threw two scoreless innings to set up the ninth for Lewis.

Evansville plays game two of this set tomorrow at 6:05 with Adam Rogers pitching against lefty Scott Fogelson.
