
Otters Lose in Saginaw, 4-3

Saginaw, Mich. - Two goals by Saginaw Spirit forward Eric Locke, including the game-winner, made the difference as the Erie Otters lost 4-3 at The Dow Event Center Friday night.
Luke Cairns put the Otters on the board at 3:50 of the first period as he ripped a shot from the high slot through the blocker side of Jake Paterson for his seventh goal of the season.
Locke tied the game at one for the Spirit after he banged in a rebound for his 25th goal of the season at 13:36.
The Otters regained the lead 10:25 into the second as J.P. Labardo threw a pass from the left corner that found its way into the net for his 13th goal of the season. The lead lasted for 35 seconds, as Jeremiah Addison tied the game at two with nine minutes left in the second period.
Garret Ross scored 2:07 into the third to put the Spirit ahead for good, and Locke followed up with a shorthanded goal at 7:26 to make it 4-2.
Dane Fox made it a close game with 7:10 left to play after he banged in a rebound from a Connor Brown shot for his sixth goal of the season. The Otters could not get the equalizer that they hoped as the Spirit shut down the neutral zone to prevent the Otters from getting a crucial result against the Spirit.
