Otters Lose in Overtime Against Knights, 3-2

London, ON - Former Erie Otters Greg McKegg factored on all three of the London Knights' goals, including the overtime winner as the Otters dropped a 3-2 game in London Sunday afternoon.

Austin Watson scored the game's first goal 3:48 into the first as he banged in a rebound from a shot by McKegg to give the Knights a 1-0 lead after 20 minutes of play.

McKegg scored to put the Knights up by two 1:13 into the second period as he finished off a two-on-one with Jarred Tinordi.

The Otters found their groove for the remainder of the second period as Luke Cairns fired a shot from the slot through the blocker side of Michael Houser for his seventh goal of the sesaon at 8:21.

Nick Betz tied the game up for the Otters with his fourth goal of the season at 13:28. The rookie took a pass from Stephen Harper at the right circle and ripped a shot through the glove side to make it 2-2 going into the third period.

The Knights won in overtime as McKegg deflected a shot by Watson 40 seconds into the period.

Ramis Sadikov had another strong game to cap off a terrific weekend, stopping 49 Knights shots in the loss.

The Otters travel north to Sault Ste. Greyhounds to play against the Greyhounds Friday night at 7:35 p.m. Fans can listen to all the action on JET Radio 1400.
