Erie Otters News Release
London, Ont. - Max Domi scored a hat trick for the London Knights as they defeated the Erie Otters, 8-1, at Budweiser Gardens Monday afternoon.
Bo Horvat opened up the scoring 50 seconds into the game with an unassisted goal to give the Knights a 1-0 lead. He then set up Josh Anderson a few minutes later to make it a two-goal game.
The Otters got on the board thanks to J.P. Labardo's 20th goal of the season. Connor McDavid found Labardo with a pass in the slot and Labardo blasted the puck into the net to put the Otters within one.
Domi went coast-to-coast during a Knights power play late in the first period and scored his 32nd goal of the season to give the Knights a 3-1 lead going into the first intermission.
The Otters had plenty of chances to draw closer to the Knights in the second period, but Anthony Stolarz stopped all 13 shots he faced in the middle frame, including a save against a McDavid breakaway.
The third period would be all Knights, as they scored five goals, including three on the man advantage, to win 8-1. Domi (twice), Ryan Rupert, Nikita Zadorov and Alex Broadhurst each scored in the final frame for London.
