Ottawa Lynx, Police Services announce ticket-based community initiative

Ottawa -- The Ottawa Lynx, along with Ottawa Police Services and the Ottawa Citizen are pleased to announce the beginning of an exciting new community-based program that will see Ottawa Police Services personnel distributing 50,000 ticket vouchers to young people in the Ottawa area who are practicing good habits and safety.

The breakdown of the 50,000 vouchers includes: 20,000 for the month of April (a month in which the Lynx have a total of 8 home games) and 30,000 vouchers for the month of May (Lynx have 11 home games). These vouchers are instantly redeemable for admission to Lynx Stadium on game day.

The ticket vouchers will be distributed through the four division of Police Services in Ottawa, including the East District, West District, Central District, and the Emergency Operations Division (EOD).

The actual vouchers will be distributed by a number of uniformed and plain-clothes Police Services personnel, including by not exclusive to Patrol Officers, Traffic Officers, the Ride Program, Community Police Centres (CPC's), School Resource Officers, Information Desk Staff, and the Youth Office.

The Ottawa Citizen is the proud print sponsor of this program that will allow these 50,000 double-sided, bilingual vouches to reward children in Ottawa who are practicing safe habits, which include anything from having a bicycle helmet on when riding, or being safe in school.

The actual vouchers began to be distributed by the Police Services personnel this evening, April 6th, at 5:00 pm.
