Ottawa Assigns Goaltender Brian Elliott To Binghamton

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. - The Ottawa Senators assigned today goaltender Brian Elliott to the Binghamton Senators of the American Hockey League.

Martin Gerber, who suffered a pulled leg muscle at practice on Friday, Oct. 24, will dress and back up Alex Auld for Ottawa's game on Oct. 30 against the Florida Panthers.

In five games with the B-Sens this season, Elliott has posted a 3-1-1 record with a 2.10 goals-against-average and a .924 save percentage. He last saw action on Friday, Oct. 24, making 25 saves in a 4-3 overtime loss to the Syracuse Crunch.

Elliott has made one career National Hockey League regular-season appearance, stopping 28 of 29 shots while collecting the victory in a 3-1 Ottawa win over the Atlanta Thrashers on Oct. 10, 2007.

The B-Sens begin a four-game home stand on Friday night when the Bridgeport Sound Tigers enter the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena for a 7:05 contest.
