Atlantic City Surf News Release
Durham, N.C. - The Canadian-American League has announced the addition of a franchise in Ottawa, Ontario, for the 2008 season. The club will replace the Grays, the league's traveling team, on the schedule to maintain an eight-team league.
The currently-unnamed team will play at 10,000-seat Ottawa Stadium, previously home to the Ottawa Lynx, a Philadelphia Phillies' affiliate in the AAA International League.
To accommodate Ottawa's entry into the league, the Atlantic City Surf's schedule has been revised. The team will still start its season on May 22, with the opening series now at Quebec, while the home opener will remain on May 26, with Ottawa the new opponent. The Surf will also maintain their July 3 and 4 fireworks games against New Jersey, and their season-ending home game on Sept. 1 versus Sussex.
The Surf's 2008 schedule now consists of 47 home games and 47 road games.
