Oshie & Vanek on Ballot for NHL All-Star Game

Sioux Falls, SD-Former Stampede stars T.J. Oshie and Thomas Vanek are on the ballot for the NHL All-Star Game, January 30 in Raleigh, North Carolina.

This year fans can vote for the top six players, regardless of conference, to the All-Star Game. Through January 3rd, fans can vote by visiting vote.nhl.com and select up to 3 forwards, 2 defensemen and 1 goaltender. The top six vote getters will be named 2011 All Stars. Click here to vote now!

Oshie, a forward for the St. Louis Blues, has recorded 10 points (1g, 9a) in 13 games. Oshie is currently out of the lineup with a fractured ankle. The Mt. Vernon, WA native is in his third season in the NHL and is coming off his best season, tallying 48 points (18g, 30a) in 76 games. Oshie played with the Stampede during the 2004-05 season.

Vanek is currently second on the Buffalo Sabres in scoring with 14 points (6g, 8a) in 20 games. The Vienna, Austria native is in his sixth season in the National Hockey League with the Sabres. Vanek has five points (2g, 3a) in his last three games. He recorded 53 points (28g, 25a) last season with the Sabres. Vanek played with the Herd from 1999 to 2002 and is the Stampede's all-time leading scorer with 153 points (80g, 73a).
