Orlando Pride Schedule Released for 2022 NWSL Challenge Cup

ORLANDO, Fla. - The National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) has unveiled the schedule for the third edition of the NWSL Challenge Cup, with the Orlando Pride set to take on the Washington Spirit, North Carolina Courage and NJ/NY Gotham FC in a slate of six matches, presented by Orlando Health, to open competitive play in 2022. Tickets to all 2022 Challenge Cup matches are currently available by becoming a 2022 Pride Season Ticket Member. Single-match tickets will go on-sale to Pride Season Ticket Members on Feb. 17 at a preferred rate and will be available to the general public starting Feb. 18. Fans can sign up for priority access to single-match tickets at the link here.

The Pride begin the double round-robin tournament on Saturday, March 19, set to host the reigning NWSL Champion Washington Spirit at Exploria Stadium. Kickoff for that match is slated for 7 p.m. ET.

Following their opener, the Pride will travel to take on the North Carolina Courage on March 26 before returning to downtown Orlando to face Gotham FC at the midweek on March 30. The side will then head back on the road for their second fixture with the Spirit on April 3 ahead of a week off from match play.

To close out the regional round, the Pride host the Courage on April 16 at Exploria Stadium, in what will serve as their last home fixture prior to taking on NJ/NY Gotham FC on April 23 at Red Bull Arena.

The tournament's semifinal round will be held on Wednesday, May 4, with the NWSL Challenge Cup Final kicking off on Saturday, May 7. Details regarding broadcast schedule for the tournament are forthcoming.

Following Challenge Cup group play, the regular season will kick off with each of the 12 teams then playing home and away matches against every other team in the league for the first balanced schedule in league history. Challenge Cup included, each team will play 28 matches, 14 contests in home markets and 14 on the road. The complete regular season schedule will be released at a later date.

Six teams will qualify for the NWSL playoffs set to take place beginning in October 2022, with the top two seeds receiving a first-round bye. The 2022 campaign will end with the NWSL Championship the weekend of October 28-30.
