ORLANDO, Fla. - Orlando Pride (0-3-1, 1 point) returns to action on Saturday, April 16, set to host the North Carolina Courage (2-0-2, 8 points) at Exploria Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. ET with the match available to stream on Paramount+ in the U.S. and internationally on Twitch.
"We expect a lot of the same [from the last match]. They're a team that doesn't change much from their tactics with a box midfield and their two-front," Head Coach Amanda Cromwell said of the opposition. "They're a challenge because nobody really plays with that system, so we're watching a lot of video in preparation of their last couple games and especially our game. I know we can do a lot better from the last result in terms of how we can play better and get more of the ball."
The two sides last faced off on March 26, when the Pride traveled to Cary, dropping a 1-0 decision off a Merritt Mathias penalty in the match.
The Pride come into the weekend looking to bounce back from a loss in the nation's capital prior to the international break. That match saw midfielder Gunny Jónsdóttir score her first goal of the year, getting on the end of a cross from Darian Jenkins.
A pair of Pride players recorded their respective Club debuts in the side's last outing, with defenders Celia and Kerry Abello coming off the bench for Orlando to appear for the first time in purple.
The Courage enter the weekend atop the East Division in the Challenge Cup standings, with a pair of victories and draws through four matches. The side last faced off against Gotham FC, battling to a 1-1 draw with goals from Debinha and Ifeoma Onumonu in the match.
Following Saturday's match, the Pride head back out on the road to close out Challenge Cup play, set to take on NJ/NY Gotham FC at Red Bull Arena on Saturday, April 23. Tickets for this weekend's match, as well as the Pride's complete regular season, can be found at Orlando-Pride.com/tickets.
