Orlando City SC News Release
ORLANDO, Fla. - Orlando City SC (12-9-12, 48 points) closes out its 2021 Major League Soccer (MLS) regular-season campaign on Sunday, Nov. 7 with its Decision Day fixture against CF Montréal (12-11-10, 46 points) at Stade Saputo. Kickoff is slated for 3:30 p.m. ET with coverage set to begin at 3 p.m. ET on FOX35 PLUS.
The match will also be available to stream locally on LionNation TV while being transmitted on Real Radio 104.1 in English and Acción 97.9FM, 810AM in Spanish.
"We're getting ready. This week has been a great week of training for the boys, preparing what is going to be that Decision Day for us," said Head Coach Oscar Pareja. "A rival [in CF Montréal] that we faced not long ago, where we had a good match and performance here despite the results. Now we have this opportunity to not just qualify, but to give that touch of getting the three points, which is the urgency right now."
The Lions will look to clinch a berth in the Audi MLS Cup Playoffs for the second-consecutive year on Sunday afternoon, with a win or draw against the opposition enough to punch the Club's ticket into the postseason.
City enters the weekend after battling to a 1-1 draw in its regular-season home finale against Nashville SC this past Sunday. Daryl Dike opened the scoring in the match in the 18th minute only to be answered by the visitors' Hany Mukhtar shortly after halftime. The Lions looked to have won the match late off the foot of Andrés Perea following an Alexandre Pato free kick, but the goal was waived after Video Review deemed a foul on the play prior to the finish.
Nani leads the Lions with 10 goals this season, followed by Dike now with nine. Mauricio Pereyra remains one assist shy of setting the single-season Club-record, currently leading the team with 10 on the year.
Montréal comes into Decision Day following a 2-0 shutout victory over the Houston Dynamo at the midweek to keep their postseason hopes alive. Second-half goals from Rudy Camacho and former City defender Kamal Miller led the home side, taking all three points on the night.
Romell Quioto leads Montréal with eight goals this season, followed by Mason Toye with seven. Djordje Mihailovic leads the side with 16 assists on the year, good for second in MLS.
