Orlando City B Signs Academy Product Gustavo Caraballo to MLS NEXT Pro Contract

ORLANDO, Fla. - Orlando City B has signed Orlando City Academy product Gustavo Caraballo to an MLS NEXT Pro contract, it was announced today. Caraballo will join OCB through 2025, with Club options in 2026, 2027 and 2028.

"We're very happy today because Gustavo is another successful example of the fantastic work being done in our Academy. He had a great first season with our U-15 side, showing us what he's capable of now and his possibilities for the future," said Orlando City Technical Director and Assistant General Manager Ricardo Moreira. "Gustavo has a bright future and is continued proof of our development pathway at this Club, from the Academy to Orlando City B and hopefully the First Team. He has the talent and we've provided the resources, now it's up to him to continue putting in the work."

Caraballo, born on Aug. 29, 2008 becomes the youngest player to sign a professional contract in Club history at 14 years, 11 months and 16 days old at the time of his signing. The Orlando, Florida native has been around the professional and international game through much of his life as the son of esteemed Venezuelan National Team midfielder Gustavo Caraballo Sr. Gustavo Sr.'s professional career saw him play in the Toyota Libertadores Cup and the CONMEBOL Cup, as well as internationally with Venezuela beginning in 1990.

The 14-year-old won the Golden Boot at the 2023 edition of the Generation adidas Cup in the U-15 age bracket, tying two other players with four goals in the competition to take the honors.

Orlando City B returns to action next weekend, set to host Columbus Crew 2 on Sunday, Aug. 27 in a 7 p.m. ET kickoff at Osceola County Stadium.

TRANSACTION: Orlando City B signs midfielder Gustavo Caraballo through 2025, with Club options in 2026, 2027 and 2028.
