Orlando City B News Release
ORLANDO, Fla. - Orlando City B (1-3-2, 7 points) fell by a score of 1-0 to Philadelphia Union II (4-1-2, points) on Monday night at Subaru Park in what served as the side's first match in over three weeks, last taking the field on April 24 against New England Revolution II.
Goalkeeper Javier Otero put together another impressive performance in net for the Lions, posting seven saves in between the sticks to match his second-highest total of the season from April 10 at Inter Miami CF II.
The side's best chances of the game came within five minutes of one another, the first off the foot of Moises Tablante that was denied via a point-blank stop from Union II goalkeeper Matt Freese in the 77th minute. Shortly after, a header from Brandon Hackenberg was kept out of the net thanks to a diving effort by Freese in the 82nd.
Orlando City B returns to action on Saturday, May 21, hosting Inter Miami CF II at Osceola County Stadium in a 6 p.m. ET kickoff.
Scoring Summary:
51' Paxten Aaronson - PHI 1, OCB 0
The home side took the lead shortly after the halftime break with Paxten Aaronson firing a shot off a loose ball in the box. OCB goalkeeper Javier Otero made the initial save, however Aaronson was there to tap in his own rebound.
Match Notes:
Goalkeeper Javier Otero tallied seven saves in the match, tying his second highest single-game total of 2022.
Ignacio Galván made his Orlando City B debut with the start. Galván recently joined the Lions on loan from Argentine side Racing Club.
Orlando City B returned to the pitch for the first time in over three weeks, last taking on NE Revolution II on April 24 at Exploria Stadium.
Head Coach Martín Perelman made three changes to his starting lineup from that last game against New England, with Galván, Liam Guske and Alex Freeman each getting the nod.
Next Match: Orlando City B returns home to host intrastate foes Inter Miami CF II at Osceola County Stadium on Saturday, May 21 in a 6 p.m. ET kickoff.
