Orlando City B Announces 2022 Roster Ahead of Inaugural MLS NEXT Pro Season

ORLANDO, Fla. - Orlando City B has announced its roster ahead of its inaugural MLS NEXT Pro campaign. The roster comprises a mix of those signed to MLS NEXT Pro contracts, as well as Academy players taking their next step along the Club's development pyramid.

"We're very excited about the opportunity to have Orlando City B competing in MLS NEXT Pro in what is a critical piece of our Club's development framework" Orlando City Assistant General Manager and Technical Director Ricardo Moreira said. "This is an exciting group of players and we look forward to seeing how they grow and mature in the coming season."

Ahead of the looming 2022 MLS NEXT Pro campaign, 12 players have been signed to MLS NEXT Pro contracts, including the winner of the 2020-21 Golden Ball presented by adidas Gonzalo Agustoni-Chagas, who helped lead the Orlando City U17s to an MLS Next Cup title a year ago. In addition, MLS SuperDraft selections Brandon Hackenberg and Nick Taylor have each signed to Orlando City B, while Moises Tablante and Javier Otero return to the side after having competed for the Club in USL League One from 2019-20. Midfielder Neicer Acosta Mendez and forward Mauro Bravo Fernandez will each join the side pending an International Transfer Certificate and P-1 Visa.

Also competing for Orlando City B this season are a number of Academy products currently on amateur contracts, while First Team players of Orlando City SC in Major League Soccer are eligible to be loaned to the MLS NEXT Pro side throughout the year.

Head Coach Martín Perelman and company kick off their inaugural MLS NEXT Pro campaign on Saturday, March 26, set to host Chicago Fire FC II at Osceola County Stadium.
