Orbit Wins Albuquerque Journal's Readers' Choice Award for Best Local Team Mascot

The Albuquerque Journal announced this morning that Orbit, the Isotopes loveable mascot, has won the publication's Readers' Choice award for Best Local Team Mascot, as voted on by the fans.

This is Orbit's third award since 2025 after winning back-to-back USA TODAY 10Best Reader's Choice award for Best Minor League Mascot.

Orbit makes around 300 community appearances each year, visiting schools, hospitals, food banks, charity events, and much, much more.

"What a tremendous honor to be recognized by local fans in the great state of New Mexico," Isotopes mascot Orbit wrote in a statement. "I love being the face of the Isotopes franchise and it's a privilege to represent the best fans in the country."

Additionally, the club was named as a finalist for Best Local Sports Team.

The Isotopes begin their next homestand on Tuesday, August 4 against the Sugar Land Space Cowboys. Tickets are available for every game of the homestand. Fans may visit abqisotopes.com or stop by the Isotopes Park Box Office.
