Isotopes Complete Six-Game Sweep with 10-5 Triumph over Chihuahuas

El Paso, TX - The Albuquerque Isotopes scored eight runs in the first four innings and cruised to a 10-5 victory over the El Paso Chihuahuas on Sunday afternoon at Southwest University Park, completing a sweep of the six-game series. Adael Amador, Zac Veen, Charlie Condon and Chad Stevens all went deep for Albuquerque, and starting pitcher Valente Bellozo was sharp, working 5.2 innings of two-run ball to earn the victory.

Topes Scope: - The Isotopes completed their second six-game series sweep in team history, as Minor League Baseball switched to the six-game format in 2021. The other came from June 14-19, 2022 when the club accomplished the feat at home against the Salt Lake Bees, including taking both games of a doubleheader on June 18.

- Albuquerque's six-game sweep is the second in the Pacific Coast League this season (other: Las Vegas over Tacoma, May 26-31 at Cheney Stadium). Sugar Land will attempt to sweep Salt Lake, with the series finale set to be played later tonight.

- The Isotopes swept the Chihuahuas in a series for the third time in franchise history, with the previous two occurrences being four-game sets (April 15-18, 2014 in Albuquerque and Sept. 2-5, 2016 in El Paso). Overall, it was the ninth time Albuquerque has swept a series on the road, and first since the aforementioned set when they took the final four games of the regular season over Labor Day weekend at El Paso in 2016.

- The Isotopes scored 75 runs in this series, shattering their previous record for a set - which was 62 runs at home against Sugar Land from May 2-7, 2023. As a club, Albuquerque slashed .336/.415/.603 with 72 doubles, 10 triples, 50 homers and 242 total runs scored against El Paso this season.

- Albuquerque finished 18-6 against El Paso this season, tying for their most wins against a single opponent in one campaign as they also were 18-6 facing off with the Chihuahuas in 2023. The Isotopes went 11-1 at Southwest University Park this year, their most triumphs in an away ballpark in one season (previous: nine wins at El Paso in 2023).

- For the first time in franchise history, the Isotopes have scored in double-digits in four consecutive games (50 total runs during the stretch).

- The Isotopes clubbed 19 home runs this week, setting a new team record for most long balls in one series (previous: 18 homers, June 21-26, 2022 at Las Vegas - six games).

- Albuquerque's six-game winning streak is one off their season-high, a seven-gamer from May 1-9.

- Adael Amador was 3-for-5 with a double, homer and three RBI, and has gone deep in three consecutive games for the third time in his pro career (last: June 4-6, 2024 with Double-A Hartford). He was 10-for-26 with two doubles, four long balls and eight RBI in five games this series.

- Zac Veen finished 3-for-5 with two doubles and a home run, his fourth game with multiple extra-base hits this year (also: June 12 at Tacoma, June 23 vs. Salt Lake, July 4 at Round Rock). Veen is the first Isotopes player to have four contests with three or more extra-base knocks in the same year since John Lindsey in 2010.

- Veen started all six games of the series in El Paso and was 13-for-29 with four doubles, a triple, four homers and 14 RBI. On Sunday, he became the eighth player in Isotopes history to compile at least 20 homers and 30 doubles in a campaign (others: Joe Dillon - 2004; Larry Sutton - 2004; Russ Mitchell - 2010; John Lindsey - 2010; Jamie Romak - 2014; Jordan Patterson - 2017; Wynton Bernard - 2022).

- Charlie Condon was 2-for-4 with a homer and three RBI. He snapped a 73 at-bat stretch without a long ball with his 424-foot blast off Jackson Wolf in the first inning. Condon slashed .253/.398/.530 with five doubles, six homers and 19 RBI in 21 contests against the Chihuahuas this season.

- Chad Stevens finished the afternoon 2-for-5 with a solo homer in the third and RBI single in the ninth. He has hit safely in seven of his last eight games, going 13-for-34 during the span.

On Deck: The Isotopes will be off tomorrow before welcoming the Sugar Land Space Cowboys to Rio Grande Credit Union Field on Tuesday, with first pitch of the series opener set for 6:35 pm.
