Maywood Buzz News Release
Fresno CA, - With the late start of the game due to traffic, the Buzz started off the game slow as if they just woke up from their nap on the drive up to Fresno. By the time the Buzz realized they had arrived to Fresno they were down early by 8. In the second quarter, the Buzz gather themselves from their slumber and started to click on all cylinder to take a 4 point lead by halftime.
Unlike their first two games, the Buzz came out on fire during the 3rd Quarter. Led by the fantastic play of play of Robin "Sik with It" Kennedy (40pts), Ronell Mingo (22pts) and Keith Closs (22pts) the Buzz push the lead up to 30 at times during the game.
The 4th Quarter continued with the excellent play by the Buzz as every attempts at a run by Fresno was stopped. At the end of the game Sonny Watson's put back slam and Sik's three point shot put the exclamation point on the Buzz's victory.
Following the game Assistant Coach Marc Joffe stated, "All week we talked about our energy level in the 3rd Quarter. For us to get our wins on this road trip, our 3rd Quarter play is going to be our ticket for our "W's". Tonight's game was proof."
