Beloit Sky Carp News Release

The 2007 season opener is just one week away. Come check out the Snappers as they take on the Cedar Rapids Kernels on Thursday, April 5th at 6:30 pm. The Snappers will begin their 3rd season as a Minnesota Twins Affiliate and their 26th overall.

"This season is scheduled to be as exciting a season as I can remember," said General Manager Jeff Vohs. "With all the giveaways, promotions, and fireworks on tap we have every reason to be excited. Add in the fact that two former Big Leaguers, Ryne Sandberg (2005 Hall of Fame Inductee) and Lance Parrish, are coming to town, and that gives us plenty to look forward to."

Tickets are still available for Opening Day and can be purchased one of three ways. Stop by the Front Office at Pohlman Field located at 2301 Skyline Dr. in Beloit, visit the team's website at www.snappersbaseball.com, or call 608-362-2272.

Snappy is among those excited for Opening Day. He's so ready for the season to start that he's been seen out and about in the Greater Beloit Area giving away free tickets. Be the first person to spot Snappy and win big. Once you spot him shout "Snapper-tastic" and win two free tickets to a Snappers home game. He is only able to carry two tickets on him at a time so keep your eyes pealed and make sure you are the first to spot him.

Purchase your tickets to "Meet the Team Night" before it's too late! This exciting event is set for Tuesday, April 3rd at Central Christian Church, located at 2460 Milwaukee Road in Beloit, and will run from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Adult tickets are $3, children ages 5-14 are $2, and children 4 and under are free. Enjoy a menu full of ballpark food for dinner and then take the time to get to know your 2007 Snappers.

51 days from now, former Chicago Cub and new Peoria Chiefs' manager, Ryne Sandberg, is coming to Beloit! Sandberg and his Chiefs will take on the Snappers on May 19-20 and again June 21-24. Seats are still available!
