Open Tryouts Held in Bakersfield over the Weekend

BAKERSFIELD, September 28, 2014 - The Bakersfield Jam held their Annual Open Tryouts in Bakersfield on Saturday, September 27 at the Dignity Health Event Center. 50 plus aspiring professional basketball players that participated in the open tryout were observed and evaluated by members of the Bakersfield Jam basketball operations staff, including Jam General Manager and Phoenix Suns Pro Personnel Scout Bubba Burrage.
"It was a successful day," said Burrage. "We appreciated the effort put forth by all players. They should all feel good about the work they put in with the Jam."
In an opportunity to showcase their talents, players were put in offensive and defensive drills, followed by 5-on-5 games.
"We had a good group of guys in the gym on Saturday," said Head Coach Nate Bjorkgren. "I appreciate all of their hard work and determination."
The Bakersfield Jam open the 2014-15 campaign on Friday, November 14 when they host the Texas Legends at 7:00 p.m. PT.
