Ontario Rolls Again, Remains Undefeated

Ontario Fury News Release

Ontario, California - The Ontario Fury, Driven by Mark Christopher Auto Center, got another five-point night from Adrien Perez, and Francisco Cordeiro added three more points as the Fury remained undefeated all-time against the Dallas Sidekicks with a 10-2 win and improved to a 2-0 record on the season.

Ontario is 6-0 all-time against the Dallas franchise, Ontario's first-ever opponent in November 2013.

Perez doubled his point production on the season with his five-point night, reached on three goals and two assists, giving him eight goals on the young season. But it was Jeff Hughes who opened the scoring, as he scored his first with the Fury, as he volleyed a clearing attempt by a Dallas defender past goaltender Juan Gamboa for a 1-0 lead.

The Sidekicks answered back 20 seconds later, as Anthony Powell settled a long pass from Gamboa and beat two defenders for a clear shot past goalie Chris Toth.

But it was all Fury from there. Ontario opened a 3-1 halftime lead thanks to goals from Chico (on an assist from Perez) and Tony Walls, who intercepted a lazy pass back to Gamboa and beat the fallen goaltender with a shot into the vacated net.

Ontario turned it up in the second half, scoring four times in the third quarter to put the game away. Perez scored twice - his second goal the front half of the fastest two goals in Fury history. Perez took over the ball from Juan Carlos Gonzalez in the middle of the field and beat Gamboa low. Then, Maicon de Abreu hustled after the ensuing kickoff, taking the ball away and beating Gamboa in a one-on-one shot six seconds later. The previous fastest two goals was 14 seconds, set in 2014.

Toth was solid all evening, not getting tested until late. He ended up with 10 saves and chipped in an assist as well. Gamboa faced 17 shots, making seven saves.
