Ontario Fury News Release

The Ontario Fury, Driven by Mark Christopher Chevrolet, suffered a heartbreaking defeat to Pacific Division rivals the Las Vegas Legends, 6-5, Sunday in front of 4,072 fans at Citizens Business Bank Arena.

The Legends eliminated the Fury from the Major Arena Soccer League playoffs in a foul-filled game, a recurring theme in each meeting this season.

Las Vegas advances to face the San Diego Sockers in the second round Saturday at Valley View Casino Center in San Diego..

The Fury took an early 1-0 lead off a Juan Topete goal, but the Legends answered 20 seconds later. Less than three minutes later, the Legends tacked on another goal to take a 2-1 lead to the first quarter break.

The first was not without its dramatics as Fury forward Israel Sesay and Legends goalkeeper Zeke Sanchez were involved in a confrontation. Sesay was given a red card for his actions and was ejected. Sanchez received a yellow card for his involvement.

The Fury and Legends traded goals in the second quarter to go into halftime with a score of 3-2 in favor of Las Vegas.

In the third quarter, a Jamar Beasley goal was sandwiched in between two goals by the Legends as Las Vegas took the game to the fourth quarter with a 5-3 lead.

Ontario received a goal by Beasley for his second of the night to bring the Fury to within one. Guto Machado added in some late game dramatics by the tying the game up at five with 6:43 remaining in the game.

Las Vegas were able to overcome the late Fury push with Felipe Gonzalez scoring the go-ahead goal with 6:07 remaining.

The Fury went to a sixth attacker and put on a late offensive showing but were unable to tie up the game again.

The Fury defeat closes out their second season with high hopes towards their third season and second in the MASL.
