Ontario Fury News Release

ONTARIO, CALIFORNIA - The Ontario Fury, Driven by Mark Christopher Auto Center, have added three players to help them for the upcoming second half of the 2018-19 Major Arena Soccer League Season. Per team and league policies, terms of the agreements were not disclosed.

Mexico National Arena Soccer Team Defender Victor Quiroz heads up the new additions. Quiroz played for Mexican Futsal and Mexico Beach Soccer National team before expanding his professional career to the United States. Victor played in the 2012 FIFA Futsal World Cup for his home nation Mexico, scoring one goal and helping them eventually make it to the finals against the United States. Victor, 42, was born in Mexico.

"We are very excited to bring a player of Quiroz's caliber to the Fury and look forward to him having an immediate impact for us," Fury Team President Bernie Lilavois said. "He is a true veteran of the game with a wealth of international experience and is a guy who will help our core of young players become true professionals."

Midfielder Anibal Echeverria is the second player added to the Fury roster. Echeverria recently played for Soles De Sonora and was a teammate of Quiroz. He also played for the Turlock Express and Sacramento Surge in the MASL. He was a member of the USA Minifootball team who competed in Guatemala last year and helped the team qualify for the 2019 World Minifootball Federation World Cup to take place in Australia later this summer.

"Anibal is a player who we've been trying to get in a Fury uniform for a long time now," Lilavois said. "He will also have an immediate impact on our team and add some much needed offensive power to the roster."

Additionally, the Fury re-activated Defender Thiago Goncalves who had not seen any action this season with the team so far. "Thiago has been a solid defender for us the last two seasons and we are thrilled to have him back again," added Lilavois. "With all the injuries that have piled up over the first part of our season, Thiago will be a welcome addition to the back line again."

Ontario returns to Citizens Business Bank Arena on Sunday at 5pm to take on the Tacoma Stars in a huge playoff implication game. The Fury are auctioning off their Black Game Used Jerseys to benefit Casa Colina Foundation. Fans can bid now as the auction is currently live on the LiveSource mobile app.

Tickets for the game, as well as all the Fury's remaining home games are on sale now at the Citizens Business Bank Arena box office, online at Ticketmaster.com or through the Fury's offices by calling 909-457-0252.
