Rancho Cucamonga Quakes News Release
Rancho Cucamonga, CA- The Rancho Cucamonga Quakes are ready to elect the 2008 Class of the Quakes Baseball Hall of Fame, which was established last season. After revealing Gary Matthews Jr., Matt Clement, and Derrek Lee as the inaugural class last season, the Quakes plan to turn over a part of the decision-making process to the fans through voting on their recently re-designed website, www.rcquakes.com.
Fans are asked to consider not just stats in the voting process, but also character, accessibility to fans at The Epicenter, and career accomplishments since departing Rancho. Players who have suited up for the Quakes within the past five seasons in non-rehab situations are not yet eligible for induction. The list of eligible former Quakes for induction this season follows.
Raul Casanova (C, 1994), Mike Darr (OF, 1997), Graham Koonce (1B/DH, 1999-2000), Greg LaRocca (SS, 1994-95), Mike Mitchell (1B, 1997), Chris Prieto (1994-97), Rick Guttormson (P, 1999), Matt LaChappa (P, 1995-96), Brian Lawrence (P, 1999), Francisco "K-Rod" Rodriguez (P, 2001), Todd Schmitt (P, 1994/96), Jeremy Fikac (P, 1999-2000), and Managers Tim Flannery (1994) and Mike Basso (1995-97).
