Kansas City, MO - The Omaha Beef started the 2013 CPIFL season with a 38-27 victory over the Kansas City Rengades at Kemper Arena on Sunday afternoon. The Omaha defense shined as the "Beefense" recorded five turnovers including two interceptions by veteran defensive back Diezeas Calbert. Omaha also scored defensively when Byron Wilson scooped up a fumble in the end zone for a touchdown.
Offensively, Beef long time quarterback James McNear completed 21 of 30 for 198 yards and three touchdowns. Omaha (1-0) is scheduled to make their regular season home debut on Friday, March 29 when they host the Kansas Coyotes at Ralston Arena.
