TACOMA, WASH. - OL Reign has signed midfielder Kelcie Hedge through the 2022 season, the club announced today. Per league and club policy, financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

OL Reign selected Hedge in the first round of the 2020 NWSL College Draft with the ninth overall pick. The midfielder played her freshman year at the University of Washington, before redshirting her sophomore season to represent the United States at the 2016 U-20 World Cup.

Returning to the college game, Hedge joined Santa Clara University, where she was a three-year starter and was named as the 2018 WCC Player of the Year. As a senior, she led the team with 10 assists and was named to the All-WCC Second Team and was honored as a MAC Hermann Trophy semifinalist.

"Signing with OL Reign is a dream come true," Hedge said. "I have been thinking about this moment since I was a child. I am honored to be able to play and learn from such an incredibly talented team and coaching staff. I'm also very excited to be able to stay in the PNW, close to home. I am ready to continue to learn and grow as a player with this amazing organization. I feel truly blessed for this opportunity and can't wait to get started."
