OL Mudge Earns Spaulding Offensive Lineman of the Year
August 17, 2016 - Arena Football League (AFL)
Arizona Rattlers News Release
Arizona Rattlers center Jordan Mudge has been named the Spalding Offensive Lineman of the Year for the 2016 AFL season. Mudge is in his fourth season in the Arena Football League, his first with the Rattlers. Mudge has also played for the Portland Thunder and San Jose SaberCats.
He was part of the offensive line that was second in the league only allowing eight sacks, as well as the record setting offense that averaged 67 points per game in the regular season. Mudge was named to the First Team All-Arena this past Saturday.
"I give all the credit to my team mates for pushing me everyday in practice," Mudge said. "Also, to my coaches who pushed me to be great everyday."
Mudge also credits his family for giving him the motivation to succeed. His wife and her cooking were a key component to his success this season.
"If I didn't eat the way did, I would not be where I am today." Mudge said.
The Fresno, California native started his college career at Bakersfield College, where he earned First-Team All-America honors, and then transferred to the University of Nevada. While at the University of Nevada, Mudge majored in liberal arts.
Mudge and the rest of the Arizona Rattlers will take on the Philadelphia Soul on Friday, August 26th at 4p.m. at the Gila River Arena in Glendale.
