POSTPONED: Game Four of the Pacific Coast League Championship Series was postponed on Saturday due to inclement weather and will be played this afternoon. If a Game Five is necessary, it will be played on Monday afternoon 12:05 pm.

GAME THREE: Oklahoma fell 8-5 to Sacramento in Game Three of the Pacific Coast League Championship Series. The River Cats to a 2-1 series lead, keyed by home runs from Wes Bankston and Brooks Conrad. Max Ramirez hit a double and a home run for the RedHawks, while Casey Benjamin drove in a pair with a triple. Tommy Hunter took the loss after allowing six runs on nine hits over five innings of work.

AMERICAN CONFERENCE CHAMPIONS:

Oklahoma defeated Iowa 16-5 Sunday afternoon to win the series 3-2 and claim the American Conference crown. Travis Metcalf hit two home runs and drove in six, including four on a grand slam in the fourth inning that gave the RedHawks a lead they would not relinquish. Oklahoma added five more home runs and outhit Iowa for the first time in the series.

PLAYING FOR THE TITLE:

Last Sunday's win over Iowa gave the RedHawks their second American Conference championship and first since 1999. Oklahoma fell 3-1 in the finals to the Vancouver Canadians. After the 1999 season, the Canadians moved to Sacramento and became the River Cats.

AMERICAN SOUTH CHAMPIONS:

The RedHawks clinched the American South division title on August 23. Oklahoma has been in or tied for first since April 7 in the division, and was the first club to clinch its division in the Pacific Coast League this season. This title is the fifth in RedHawks history (1999, 2002, 2004, & 2005) and the tenth in Oklahoma City Triple-A history (including seven in the PCL and three in the American Association).

SCOUTING SACRAMENTO:

The River Cats won the 2007 PCL title and beat Richmond in the Bricktown Showdown. Todd Steverson took over as the club's manager his year and guided the River Cats to an 83-61 record, the third best winning percentage in the league. Sacramento hit .270 during the regular season, the tenth best average in the PCL, and held a staff ERA of 4.41, the second lowest earned run average in the league. The River Cats had the league's second-most home wins (46-24 at Raley Field) and went 37-35 on the road. Sacramento held sole possession of first place in the Pacific Conference South from May 8 on (after a doubleheader sweep in Oklahoma City) and clinched the division on August 23.

SEASON SERIES:

Oklahoma and Sacramento met at AT&T Bricktown Ballpark from May 6-9, with the River Cats taking three of four in the series, including a doubleheader sweep on May 8. Sacramento outscored Oklahoma 21-12 during the series. The RedHawks hit .242 over those four games, while the River Cats batted .293.

DOT-DOT-DOT:

The new Oklahoma City RedHawks logo and color scheme will be unveiled tomorrow afternoon in a press conference at The Brick... RedHawk batters have walked 45 times over eight playoff games, an average of 5.625 per game. Comparatively speaking, River Cats batters have walked 12 times over seven games... Casey Benjamin's second inning triple was Oklahoma's first of the post season after tying Louisville for the Triple-A lead with 60 during the regular slate...
