Shadrick will serve as the "Voice of the RedHawks" on team radio broadcasts, filling the role of lead play-by-play announcer. Shadrick was selected from among more than 100 applicants for the position.
Shadrick has spent the last five seasons as the voice of the class Double-A Jacksonville Suns in the Southern League, calling the entire 140-game schedule. The Suns led the league in attendance in each of his five seasons with the club as he contributed to the team's media relations campaign in one of Minor League Baseball's largest media markets. With the Suns, Shadrick earned the Southern League's Broadcaster of the Year Award in 2008 and was a finalist for Ballpark Digest's National Minor League Broadcaster of the Year award.
Also with the Suns, Shadrick's game calls and selected interviews were featured on the Florida Marlins Radio Network. He also served as a public speaker for the Suns throughout the community and will maintain similar responsibilities with the RedHawks.

"J.P. made every broadcast he was involved with on the Big Ten Network better. He has great instincts when it comes to identifying the features of a fascinating sports story and is a great people person."
---Tom Hart, Broadcaster, The Big Ten Network
"J.P. is a consummate professional who will broadcast in the big leagues some day. He has a personality that players and coaches trust and he does a tremendous job of painting the picture for the listeners. I have always found him to be very thorough in his preparation for his broadcasts."
---Dan Jennings, Vice President/Player Personnel and Assistant GM, Florida Marlins
Shadrick's experience in media relations also includes 10 years with CBS Television Sports as an on-site production assistant for Southeastern Conference football and NFL telecasts. With CBS, Shadrick worked as a talent statistician, spotter, researcher, and stage manager while working with the production crew to arrange player and coach interviews during each telecast. Shadrick has also filled a similar role with the Big Ten Network on conference football telecasts.
"Oklahoma City is one of the jewels of Minor League Baseball, making the decision to join Mandalay Baseball and the RedHawks very easy," said Shadrick. "The RedHawks have a great facility, the city is world-class, and the Pacific Coast League is a tremendous league. I am truly excited to hit the ground running and get to know the great baseball fans of Oklahoma City."
Shadrick's broadcast experience also includes four seasons with Jacksonville University announcing baseball, women's basketball, and several other sports. He has also served as play-by-play announcer for the Sioux Falls Canaries of the Northern League, the Salem Avalanche of the Carolina League, and the Wilson Tobs of the Coastal Plain League.
With the RedHawks, Shadrick will oversee the clubs 12-month media relations effort and serve as the contact for all media requests for club personnel in addition to his broadcast duties. He will also direct the team's speaker's bureau. Local organizations requesting a RedHawks speaker should contact Shadrick at the RedHawks office at (405) 218-1000.
