
Oklahoma City defeats Tacoma

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. - The Tacoma Rainiers (55-54) dropped game three of a four-game set with the Oklahoma City Dodgers (57-50) by a score of 3-1 on Monday night at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.
Tacoma starting pitcher Chase De Jong worked 7.0 innings and allowed just three runs on eight hits. He issued no walks, struck out four, and was ultimately saddled with the loss.
After four and a half frame of scoreless work from both starting pitchers, the Dodgers finally broke through for the game's first runs in the bottom of the fifth. Bobby Wilson put Oklahoma City on the scoreboard with an RBI single and Alex Verdugo notched a second run on a sacrifice fly, giving the Dodgers a 2-0 edge.
First baseman Daniel Vogelbach collected the Rainiers only run of the game in the top of the sixth. He blasted a solo home run to left center field and cut the Dodgers lead in half at 2-1.
The Dodgers collected an insurance run in the bottom half of the sixth when Todd Cunningham dropped a two-out RBI double into left field. Cunningham's two bagger pushed the Oklahoma City lead back out to two runs at 3-1.
Pat Light worked the final inning for Tacoma out of the bullpen and allowed just one hit while striking out one.
Tacoma and Oklahoma City close out their series on Tuesday night at 5:05 p.m. PT. The Rainiers will send right-hander Andrew Moore (3-1, 3.06) to the mound of face off against Dodgers righty Wilmer Font (8-5, 3.61).
