Oklahoma City Barons Loan D Teigan Zahn to Thunder, Recall D Dan Ringwald

STOCKTON, Calif. - The Stockton Thunder, proud ECHL affiliate of the Edmonton Oilers of the National Hockey League, announced the Oklahoma City Barons of the American Hockey League have recalled defenseman Dan Ringwald and loaned rookie defenseman Teigan Zahn (ZAWN, TEE-gan) to the Thunder.

Oklahoma City is the AHL affiliate of the Thunder and Oilers.

Zahn, 22, will return for his second stint with the Thunder and should be available to play tomorrow at Stockton Arena, where the Thunder hosts the Alaska Aces at 7:00 p.m. (1280 KWSX/StocktonThunder.com).

The 6-foot-3 and 210 pound blueliner has notched five points (2g-3a) in six ECHL games while posting a +4 rating. He was tied for the Thunder lead in scoring when recalled to the AHL on Oct. 31 and has an assist in five games with Oklahoma City this season.

Zahn was twice selected in the NHL Entry Draft, in 2008 with the Chicago Blackhawks in the fifth round (132nd overall) and in 2010 with the Tampa Bay Lightning in the seventh round (186th overall).

Ringwald, 26, has earned four points (1g-3a) in five games this season with the Thunder and returns to Oklahoma City where he has collected seven points and a +8 rating in 37 career AHL games.

The 6-foot-2 and 190 pound defenseman signed a one-way AHL contract with Oklahoma City on July 18, 2012.

A two time recipient of the ECHL "Award of Excellence," the Thunder led the ECHL in attendance for four consecutive seasons and drew over 200,000 fans for the seventh consecutive season in 2011-12.
